Back, Bigger and Better: All You Need To Know About This Black Woman!
Hello everybody, my name is Aminat Sanni-Kamal, you can call me Aminatawa and you are welcome to This Black Woman I am super excited about this first post because I took a long break from blogging a few months back and I terribly terribly missed blogging. I missed writing, I missed sharing my thoughts with my readers and I missed reading responses and feedbacks from my readers.
For those who did not know, I used to blog at aminatawastories.com but I shut it down early this year because I needed to take a break and also because I needed to start something new, I just did not feel connected to Aminatawa Stories anymore. Actually, there comes a time in a person’s life where you have to move on to become bigger.
I have decided to do some sort of question and answer segment. I have put together some questions that I think will cover what this blog is about and the kind of stuff to expect. So, let’s get right into it.
1. Why did you shut down Aminatawa Stories?
Like I mentioned earlier, I didn’t feel connected to it anymore and I also wanted to expand, I wanted to do something bigger and wider and with Aminatawa Stories I felt like I put my self in a box, starting with the name. I just knew it was time to let it go and move on to something that could accommodate my new ideas.
2. Why the name, This Black Woman?
Why not? I mean I am black, I’m growing into a woman, I’m learning to appreciate my heritage, my colour and my essence as an African woman. And since I want to be spontaneous with what I do on the blog and in life generally, This Black Woman just seems perfect.
3. What is this Black Woman all about?
Honestly, there is no straight or simple answer to this question because, TBW is not about one thing, so it cannot really be defined. Be rest assured that this is a blog you will definitely feel connected with in almost every way. But just for the sake of organisation, I have created some categories; Stories, Events, Reviews, Arts and Culture, Feminism etc oh and I will soon launch my web series.
4. Are you sure about this step you have taken?
NO I AM NOT. Don’t mind me I just had to capitalize my answer. I am not sure about this step, or any step that I have taken, in fact most times I get scared when I get a new idea or when I am about to take a life changing step. But, I’ll rather do it afraid and let God take control than not do anything at all. So please guys let’s make this count and let the traffic pour in. Thank you very much in advance.
5. Are you here to stay, or will this blog miraculously disappear like Aminatawa Stories?
Lol… I hope not, because I have a lot of plans for TBW, I intend to Franchise and grow bigger and bigger. I don’t know what the future has in store but right now, TBW is a long time project.
Thank you all for the love you showed me on ATS I need an overdose of that love on TBW, let’s grow together in love, in happiness, in empowerment, in enlightenment, in education and in every positive way possible.
Thank you for reading. If you have more questions, ask in the comment box and I’ll answer every single one of them. Also, don’t forget to subscribe to the blog to be up to date with latest posts.
I almost forgot I’ll be doing a giveaway next month just to say thank you. I won’t tell you what I’ll be giving away. It’s a secret you’ll have to stay glued to the blog to find out.
