When I was about to start this blog, one of the things on mind was how I’d be using myself and my skin as experiment. I have acne prone, oily skin and because of this I have a lot of acne on face, back and shoulders. I have acne scars and pores all over my face, and I have decided to fight them naturally.
On my experimental journey, I found two amazing black soaps that has really helped my skin. This month I’ll be doing a review of the two them. But, today, I’m starting with Black Smoothie Soap from Wura Naturals.
Black Smoothie Soap contains a natural blend of cocoa pod ash, palm kernel oil, coconut oil, shea butter, rosewater, vegetable glycerin, honey, lemon extracts, licorice extract, and of course essential oils and herbs among other ingredients.
The first thing that made me fall in love with the soap is the smell, it smells so beautifully, almost like banana. The scent also lingers on your skin even after your bath, it leaves you feeling good about yourself.
The second thing I love about Wura’s Black Smoothie Soap is the feel of it on my skin, it’s so soft and foamy (I’m not sure if foamy is the right word to use here) but what I mean is that the soap is perfectly whipped. Trust me, I didn’t want to leave the bathroom the first day I tried the soap, I kept rubbing it all over my body, just because I love the scent.
When the soap arrived in its beautiful packaging, it came with a thank you note and oh… I love thank you notes, makes me feel appreciated (that’s what it’s supposed to do, isn’t it?) well, I was still ‘awwing’ over the thank you note, only for me to turn it around and see a handwritten, personally drafted thank you note just for me, if you had seen how happy I was enh, it was as if I had just won the lottery.
These first three things, sold me instantly even before I started using it. Now, when I started using it regularly to bath morning, evening and sometimes when I’m too tired in the evening I just use it wash my face, I have seen a lift in my skin complexion. Let me pause here and explain, this soap is not a bleaching soap o. Due to my serious acne problem, growing up I used a lot of products just to get rid of my acne, not only did they not work, they worsened my situation and changed the colour of my skin especially on my face, but with Black Smoothie Soap, my skin tone is beginning to even up and it’s beginning to glow. (I explained in this post the difference between glow up and bleaching) I don’t like before and after pictures, otherwise I would have posted them on the blog.
My pores are also beginning to shrink, they have not disappeared completely, it may take a long time for that to happen but, I’m in no hurry because I know the end result is going to be fantastic. And yes there is a reduction in the outbreak of pimples on my face. I just finished my period, this is a time when they come out to feast but beautifully, I only have two of them on my face.
Black Smoothie Soap also makes my skin softer and I feel relaxed after each bath. So, what exactly is this soap doing for me?
1. It is giving my complexion an even tone and glow that it deserves.
2. It is fighting my acne
3. It is shrinking my pores
4. It is giving me a softer and smoother skin.
Wura’s Black Smoothie Soap actually lives up to its reputation. One thing you should know, about all (true) natural products is that they are not magic, they take their time to work and they are really healthy for your skin.
This soap comes in 200mg container, which should last you about a month except of course you are like me (who will pack everything on her body just because it feels very soft and smooth) anyways, I’m definitely loving this soap, and I’ll be using it for a long time.
